Newham Primary School was announced as the winner of the Woolworths Junior Landcare Team Award at the 2021 National Landcare Awards Gala on 5 August 2021. The students acknowledged the contribution of everyone who has been involved in Landcare projects at the school, including Newham and District Landcare Group for their leadership, support and mentoring, and in particular Penny and Hilary Roberts, Jim Sansom, and the late Jenny Waugh. They also thanked the Newham Propagation Group, Newham Garden Club, past and present students, parents and community members for all their hard work on projects.
